Shawn took a couple of days off and...

...now the living room has finally been finished!

Got up with sun, said goodbye to the old mocha walls of the living room... 

Moved everything out of the living room, and off Shawn went to ripping down the ceiling, and walls!

Next to go was the old insulation.  The old insulation was made from balsam and wool!

Everything gone...

...new insulation (yeah, everything happened this fast!:)

New walls, trim, and window casings!!! Ta Daaa!!!

Ceilings have been left opened to expose old post, and beams!

In reality I have to say that my husband worked for three days straight to get this done!  And I love our new bright, and airy living room!

I think Shawn did beautiful job, he's happy he got to work with his hands, and I am blessed to have a husband that works so hard for his family!

Here is Shawn's I cannot sit and do nothing creation. I guess we are going to have flower beds in the front of the house too! (The big one on the side is not even properly weeded yet, and where I did clear, new ones are thriving!) Well, I am not going to be able to get it all done in just a couple of weeks, but I am hoping that by this fall, our lawn will be some what under control!


This is the composting frame that Shawn built for me! I finished it with chicken wire for the sides and made the removable slats pretty, at least for the summer!

The Honey Do List Gets Shortened!!!

(And now I will not feel to guilty when I add to it!)

Shawn was a busy man last weekend, but he also got to build things (I think it is somewhat like legos for big boys!) He created the structure for the new compost, a trash bin out of recycled parts of an old shed that blew apart in a winter storm, put on a new screen door (Beanie has not left this post since! First time he is able to see outside from inside!) And created a structure for the air conditioner to set on (where Legend does not leave on hot, humid days, our old boy is not loving the heat this summer.)

I did finally add the chicken wire to the compost for its' walls, and stained the front boards to make it look pretty, but that is like frosting the cake after someone else bakes it!

My hubby worked hard, and I am so thankful!
